Mary walker states that in her article “ A four Day School week” can help students and hurt students education.A four day school week has been tested in a school to see who it would do for a school year or four a couple of weeks. How they proven that is by standardized testing. So they compared them from last years test and this year's test. From the results that they have compared is that it affected reading results but it helped a lot with the math scores. So with the three day weekend it gave the students a cool down time away from school and they get the sleep they need for the four day school week. So when they came to school they were ready to learn, they weren’t tired they were ready and that really helped their learning. With the four day week it made the school days longer so the teachers got to explain the assignment better. So says your teacher gave us a big writing assignment that was on computer and you didn’t have internet at home. You would have more time at school to be able to work on it because of the longer day. But with a longer school day sports activities would have to be changed like practices would go to late at night because we would get out of school at 4:30 to 5:00 every night and you wouldn’t be able to have games on fridays like all the big events are on like track and with every sport. So that would be an issue with that so it would be a bad idea because sports would be changed and we would get home late just for practice with the games it would be dark before they would be over so sports and after school activities would interfere with the four day school
