I firmly believe that Greenville Technical College’s Dental Assistant Program will give me this opportunity. I have been told that Greenville Tech has a rigorous program and I want to be a part of it. I believe that this program will prepare me for my career in the dental field and give me the tools needed to succeed.

As I have researched the skills required for Dental Assistants, I have noticed one in particular that is crucial in being a great Dental Assistant. Dental Assistants must be able to ascertain the needs of those around them so that they can make for a stable work environment and happy patients. I have the natural ability of being aware of the specific needs around me and this stems from being an empathetic and relational person. This skill allows me to communicate well with others and also listen attentively. Unfortunately, these skills alone will not get me into a dental office. I need vocational training and I need the best I can get. This is why I long to be a part of this program. I want to be well-rounded and knowledgeable in all aspects of the Dental Assistant field. Greenville Tech’s program is the perfect place to achieve all that I have set out to be.

I think I would fit as a dental hygienist for many reasons. First, I enjoy working with others and dental hygienists must have the ability to work with dentists, other dental hygienists, dental assistants, and patients. Next, I am a decisive person which will help me make decisions on what could be wrong with patients teeth or what to do when cleaning patients teeth. Third, I love to help people which is of considerable importance when being a dental hygienist because if I didn't like to help people I would not enjoy cleaning teeth or interacting with patients. Also, I am a social person that likes to work with others and see them learn and grow.…

My calendar app on my phone is the only way I keep up with my busy schedule. When adding to my calendar I make sure I have a brief description that reminds me of what I have to accomplish. Usually, for appointments I have scheduled I set a reminder for that morning to inform me about upcoming appointments for that day, so I am better aware of my day. As I mentioned in my introduction, I am a Dental Assistant in the Army, and I see multiple patients on a daily basis.…
