The website CDC has proof that over 41,149 people took their own life in the year 2013. If a person were to do the math that is about 113 lives taken each day or 1 life every 13 minutes. Some have argued that suicide education should not be taught in schools. Their argument could not be more wrong. This essay will outline how important suicide prevention education is for today’s youth. Suicide prevention helps inform youth about suicide. If a person does not know what a problem is they can never address it. The American Psychological Association has proven that the more a person hear about prevention, the less likely that person is to take their own life. If schools start teaching prevention at a young grade, like kindergarten, the more children and teens can be informed. Some argue that learning about suicide in kindergarten is unnecessary but what those people do not understand is that the age of kids killing or attempting to kill themselves is lower than it has ever been.According to the Daily Mail and other new sources, the youngest known person to successfully commit suicide was six year old Samantha Kuberski.
