The amount of suicides in the Army is a growing problem and should not be taken lightly. This horrific event degrades morale and affects all associated from family members to Soldiers within the formation and the organization. The Army had to counteract this epidemic and develop a way to strengthen the minds of our Soldiers. The Army invested into a program and developed a training module called Master Resiliency Training (MRT). The purpose of this paper is to show how leaders more specifically Sergeants Major (SGM) can identify and combat against suicide in their formations.
