The case of choice, a 22-year-old black male referred himself to the emergency room after making deep gashes along his wrists requiring nine stitches, basically a plea for help. Factors of risk, loss of income, relationship, homicidal ideation, symptoms of social withdraw, insomnia, inability to experience pleasure and decreased appetite (Argosy University, 2017). The case brings up doubts about self-injurious behavior in which there is no intent to die, but to impart that presence of a suicide attempt to convey with others seen as suicide gestures (Nieto, Blasco-Fontecilla, die Leόn-Martinexz, & Baca-García, 2014).
