Macduff on the other hand had a much simpler view of success. In the beginning of the play Macduff achieved success by having a very happy family life. After his family is tragically taken away from him he develops a new idea of success. He will consider himself successful in life if he can exact revenge on those responsible for the death of his family. Revenge is the new bench mark of success for him. Macduff states on page 93 Act 5 Scene 7. “If thou be’st slain and with no stroke of mine, my wife and children’s ghost will haunt me still.” This is basically saying that Macduff has to kill Macbeth so that he can get payback and avenge his wife and children after they were viciously murdered by …show more content…
His view of success is having lots of money. In order to portray an image of success he sucks/steals money out the business for his own personal gratification. In the movie when Sean is introduced he is shown as very childish but we see that he is truly manipulative. As soon as he meets Mark and he joins Facebook as and information guru, he convinces Mark to lower Eduardo’s shares to 0.03%. After getting Eduardo basically out of the company he celebrates by giving 19 year old students cocaine. When the police bust him at his intern’s college party he tries to lie to the cops about the cocaine being his. Showing that he is manipulative but also not very smart. Seeing as he obviously manipulated those teens to do the cocaine. Then he blatantly lies to the cops about the Cocaine being his when the evidence is all on his fingers. He’s just using Facebook to make millions of dollars. This seems very smart because Sean doesn’t have to do much work and makes millions. This plan eventually backfires because in the movie when Sean gets sent to jail he calls and tells Mark that he’s in jail for a miss understanding. Mark then replies with “Go home Sean, and I will get this all settled out”. This really showed that Mark finally saw Sean Parker for who he really was a leech. Mark realized that Sean was using company money to maintain his image was money off his business. These examples show that you can
