For example, there must have been randomization of the sample group and appropriate care and diligence shown in the allocation of controls. I also tried to make my report as valid as possible as I attempted to get a sample of the whole teenage population. Furthermore, I gave all individuals that I distributed my questionnaires to an option to withdraw from my research, and also to see my final results. The idea behind reliability is that any results must be inherently repeatable. Other researchers must be able to perform the exact same experiment, under the same conditions and generate the same results. My study is reliable because I am gaining information from reliable sources such as organizations and information sheets by professors. For my secondary research, I aimed to use a variety of sources such as books relating to body image and the media. Through my secondary research, I used the internet, newspapers and got into discussions and debates about body image and the media. There was plentiful of information about body image and the media in various forms. Throughout my IRP and through secondary resources I recorded everything in my diary, I also used my diary to write drafts. Through this process of conducting secondary research, my understanding on body image and the media and my personal view varied. Through my secondary research, I tried to find the most up to date sources and cross reference facts with other sources to ensure my research was reliable and valid. Having secondary sources helped me to reinforce or compare data obtained from the primary investigations.
