Therefore, a family may be encouraged to restructure in what could potentially be a harmful manner. MST relies on the notion of continuous hypothesizing about family difficulties or situations (Wetchler and Hecker, 2015). To myself, this appears to be a very interesting and effective method for gaining information, as well as inviting interactions. However, if a hypothesis is way off the mark, I believe it could damage the therapeutic alliance for a session for one or more members, or even damage the counseling relationship in
