Strengths of the Security Council
Majority of key members are the so called ‘super powers’, for example. Regardless of that concept the facts about those countries is that they are economically developed with advanced militaries which with no doubt are equally threats to any country in the world. When there is an enormous within a declaration of any mission, the mandate will be enforced at 360 angle. Also, the legal status it gains from the International Law is indeed a legal status that is ear-worth to any government.
The permanent members in the council are economic power houses. The fact that they are economic powers is that they possess the power and influence to impose sanctions. This can be used as a mechanism for the determination to realize the need for world peace, hence the affected state would have to rectify its mistake before the sanctions are lifted. More so, the strong financial base of these member states makes it easier to satisfy the financial need required to maintain world peace, for instance military intervention so as to cater for food, health care and weapons. Having a strong military basis makes it easier to arm forces for military intervention to maintain peace and security. The Security Council has access to vast intelligence which can be used to counter threats to peace and security. This is an invaluable asset to the Security Council because they become better equipped on how to deal with disputes thus improving effectiveness.
