The House of Representatives has 435 members each state having a different number of representative based solely on the number of people living in their states. The more people the more representatives from that state. The Senate has 100 members with each state having only two Senators which are elected every six years by the people in their states.
A major strength of this branch of government is law making, the Congress has the power to make laws and solely the Congress not even the president can make a law without going through the Congress, even though the president can veto laws they pass the Congress can override the veto if they wish. Any member of Congress that wants to make a major change in a policy will have a hard time getting anyone’s attention because of how big the House of Representatives and the Senate are. With this weakness it means that if it’s ever needed the Congress couldn’t lead the country since they themselves do not have a leader, One other weakness is the presidential power to veto a bill which if done could stir up some mixed feelings from the public and make the government slightly infective.
