Duplin County Sheriff’s Office has a few weaknesses. One of their main weaknesses is the quality of the management staff. Not all managers there are of top manager quality. Some of the managers there have the lack of experience and drive to be a manager. There are some managers that are good at their job and deserve to be in that position. The managers that were given the position of managers without having what it take to be a manager made it to that position by becoming close friends with the Sheriff. While law enforcement in it self is not looked at the best right now with the public anyway, Duplin County Sheriff’s Office faces their own struggles. The Sheriff’s Office previous Sheriff made a lot of enemies while on the job and a lot of people began to look at the Sheriff’s Office negatively. The public did not trust the office, causing an issue because the public should be able to trust law enforcement. Now the current Sheriff and the entire office are trying to overcome that negative perception. Each employee has to help ensure to the public that they can be trusted and they will perform their job the best they can. To meet the goal of the Sheriff’s Office, the employees have to do their best to make the perception of the entire office
