Straightening your hair can be quite complicated and frustrating .But once you know how to do it, then you will never be able to stop doing it. I have been straightening my hair for six years, so I know every detail on how the straightening your hair works. I am going to show you the things that you will need and the eight steps that you will have to follow during straightening process.
Here are the things that you will need to straighten your hair: comb (any kind of comb but prefer wide-tooth comb), a hair straightener (for short, thick or fine hair, use an iron with narrow plates ranging in size from half-an-inch to one-inch thick. After you washed your hair, give a quick towel dry, and then you must blow dry with a hair dryer (never use a flatiron on damp hair—you must blow dry your hair first. Using a flatiron on damp hair can lead to damage that literally breaks the hair because the temperature of the flatiron on damp hair can cause the water in the hair to literally boil, and then burst the hair shaft. Steps 2: Apply the heat protection - avoid applying any heat protector 2 1/2 -3 inches from the scalp because they contain oil, which will make your hair look greasy. Put a drop on your hands, rub your hands together and then apply from the bottom up, as if your fingers are a comb. Steps 3: Divide your hair into sections - Dividing your hair into sections will ensure that you straighten your hair properly, without missing any strands. Steps 4: Make sure the temperature is right for your hair. This is a big one. Your hair should only be ironed at a low setting, below 300 degrees, as it is fine and damaged (the same goes for chemically treated hair). Normal hair can be ironed at 300-380 and thick, coarse or extra curly hair at 350-400. Start at a lower level and increase as needed.
