Steven Spielberg Research Paper

Most people would agree that Steven Spielberg is a talented film director who has made some of the greatest,influential, and most iconic films of the past few decades. While all that may be true, I have much more to say about him. To me, he is much more than just the average film director, he is like a close friend. Even if I have never met the man in real life, I still feel a strange fondness for him whenever his name gets mentioned in conversation. I love him for reasons like his empathetic struggles through grade school, but I also have slight animosity towards him for trivial things like his political stance. To me, he is like a best friend. He’s person who I adore with all my heart. However, I still hold mixed feelings on them all the time, much in the same way I do for actual people in my life. Most of this insane admiration stems from personal experiences that Steven went through as a child. He was a struggling student who got poor grades in school, he was a victim of bullying(most of which was anti-Semitic), and he had a family that was in full support of his dream career; to be a film director. Every point I made is a relatable one. This only makes Spielberg more of a relatable role model than any other person I can think of. The 1993 film, “Jurassic Park,” is a particularly special film in my eyes. Hours upon hours of viewing this film not only cemented my interest in paleontology, but it also kept my 9 year old self drawing up until I was in high school. Steven Spielberg has clearly made an impact on my life for the better. Without him, I probably wouldn’t be drawing my comics and my characters right now. Despite all this, that doesn’t free Mr. Spielberg from criticism. It’s not heavy criticism, but there are some qualms about him that I have felt the need to express
