Perhaps some do tell the truth about females with tattoos, but that does not involve every woman that is included in the same group. Now stereotypes can be exaggerated, but it is telling the truth in a way. Even though stereotypes are true, they do tend to have an exaggeration on some parts and sometimes it can expand the truth further than it is. While misconceptions are making false statements about these women that are victims. Misconceptions can come from anyone or anywhere, people hear them, but they do not know where it comes. An easy way to remember misconceptions is by thinking that they are nothing but rumors provoked by others to give a wrong image of something or someone. Being accused sexually, emotionally, and physically just cause we are females with tattoos, piercings, or both. I have been criticized for having a tattoo, people would say that I was ignorant and that I would regret it; but still to this day I know I did right instead of wrong because it is a memory that will never leave my side. Mandi Delapena, teacher, that has a variety of art around her body states,” When going to a job interview I cover my tattoos because it looks less professional among employers.” Due to the fear of looking unprofessional many females hide, the ink that makes them who they are. Even if they get hired for the job they still have to hide or cover up the art that is roaming around their bodies. Women have a fear of the misconceptions of others, but that does not limit their power and well being of one. Sukran Sahin, journalist, makes a powerful statement for women,” It felt empowering to create something irreversible and visible,and not being afraid of what others might think.” Feeling that sense of power or independence makes a woman feel motivated to feel like nothing can get in their way. People look at us like if we are some freaks walking around the stores or on the streets. Females like Mandi, Sukran, and Sami have this piece of art on them because it has a value, memories, and a
