3. One new technology that contributed to the growth of the Industrial Revolution was the steam engine. The creation of the steam engine had a major economic impact on the IR because it changed the way that the manufacturing processes worked also it affected many other areas of the revolution. This invention allowed workers to double even triple their work output thereby increasing their income. Another technology was the flying shuttle this invention one of the key developments in the industrialization of weaving during the Industrial Revolution. It allowed a weaving on a loom much faster and allowed weavers to increase their production. Another new form of technology that affected the IR was the invention of steam-powered locomotives. The locomotives greatly improved the IR because it allows the transport of materials and goods quicker than ever before. The creation of locomotives had an important contribution to the success and maturing of the IR. Railways also created job opportunities for farm laborers and peasants to work on the railroads.

I think that women and children were so heavily relied upon during the Industrial Revolution because factory work was based on unskilled labor. Factory work wasn't difficult to do it's just repetitive so women and children were used to doing those jobs, also because women and children typically have small hands they could work better with machines that had needles, etc. Women were especially used in textile based factories because they would be skilled in weaving. Also, I feel that factory owners hired women and children for jobs because they would be less likely to rise up against the factory owners for the harsh conditions. I feel that the women and children had to accept their role in the factories because they had no say in their
