During my undergraduate degree, I was placed on disciplinary probation for plagiarism. In the midst of transitioning from a self-learning system in India to a group based education system in the US, I was immature enough to cross the line of collaboration. I continue to feel extremely embarrassed and disappointed with my poor decision and have learnt to take an ethical stance in such situations. Learning from the experience, I have become extremely cautious. For instance, in my everyday work, I am now very cautious in dealing with confidential information of customers and internal teams as well.
