My Big Decision "There is no decision that we can make that doesn't come with some sort of balance or sacrifice." Said Simon O Sinek author of "Start With Why.” This is an outstanding quote that is a perfect description for decision making in everyone’s life, especially mine. Sophomore year I was given a tremendous opportunity to go to a cutting-edge, newly developed school, which was specializing in educating students in the career of their choice. I was going to stay with my high school companions and enjoy high school. I had made my decision and it was final… so I

At the end of sixth grade, the junior high band came to my elementary school and performed for us. I watched in awe as students, not that much older than me, played music with their instruments. The flute players in the front row especially caught my attention; they were right next to the band directors and held their instruments up to the side, rather than down in front of them like the others. The flute had a high pitched melody and a bright silver color that appealed to me. That day, I signed up for the beginner band on the Coppinville Junior High registration sheet.…

A lot of work goes into putting together a marching band show. The band has to learn and memorize all of the music while paying attention to dynamics, time signatures, and tempos. On top of all of this music, a band has to learn over forty different formations to march to on the field. Before any of this can happen there must be practice. We learn how to march at the beginning and we learn how to play our instruments early on.…
