Starbucks menu has a variety of serving sizes for their beverages. For their hot drinks, a short size is 8 ounces, a tall size is 12 ounces, the grande size is 16 ounces, and the venti size is 20 ounces (Starbucks, 2016). They also offer the short, tall and grande for cold options but the venti for cold drinks is 24 ounces, while an included trenta size is 30 ounces (Starbucks, 2016). Having such a variety of sizes is beneficial to the customer and they can choose to purchase as little or as much as they want for a multitude of drink options. The flexibility and choices are two of Starbucks selling points to consumers. They also take time to roast each batch of coffee beans for a very specific time frame. They offer a lighter option called the blonde roast, a medium roast and dark roast. They have many different blends of coffee beans in each category that give specific aromas and taste but the medium …show more content…
medium is 14 oz. the large is 20 oz. and the extra-large is 24 oz. Their cold beverage sizes are 16 oz. for a small, 24 oz. for a medium and 32 oz. for a large. Although their variety is not as extensive as Starbucks they do offer different options. One drawback I see with Dunkin’s cold sizes are that they are all on the larger size and don’t offer as much flexibility. Their price is a plus though because they are less expensive than Starbucks.
Dunkin Donuts offers only one coffee blend. It’s a secret recipe that they do not share but their beans are all roasted to 400 Fahrenheit, which they believe is the perfect temperature for releasing the best flavor (Dunkin’ Donuts, 2016). They use this same coffee blend for their hot, cold and frozen drinks. It is also sold in national chain grocery stores. Only having one blend cuts down on cost and allows them to be consistent with the product (Dunkin’ Donuts, 2016). It doesn’t, however, allow for different consumer tastes or
