While Luke's father Anakin, who becomes the dreaded Darth Vader, isn’t usually viewed as a hero, he endures many of the same trials that his son does. Darth Vader reluctantly leaves his home as a child to become a jedi, and is prophesized to be the one that is to bring balance to the force. Even though he destroys the jedi order, and becomes more machine than man, he sacrifices himself in the end to save his son, and bring balance to the force. The Star Wars saga doesn't just follow the story of the quest of Luke Skywalker, it follows many other people in their quests towards heroism, like Luke's Father or Han Solo, and the list goes on and on. Star Wars is a great example of the Hero’s quest, as it follows the journeys of many different heroes, each facing different challenges. The hero's quest is a very common and popular mythic theme, as it's one that people can usually latch onto, and aspire to be like the hero in the story. Whether that story be Ancient Greek, American Indian, Southeast Asian, or even a modern sci-fi movie such as Star Wars, people always have been, and always will be drawn to the story of an unlikely
