Human development is often compared to as the choice between what was inherited compared to what is obtained. In the following, we will compare the human development of children and changes that occur for students in between the ages of 6-7 versus the ages of 8-9. Information obtained from the Standford’s Children’s Health page helps us gather different milestones that age groups meet socially, intellectually and with what fine motor skills are developed.
Physical aspects of the child ages 6-7 are strongly developing. During this age children are probably losing their first tooth. They are enjoying many aspects of outdoor activities such as jumping rope and riding a bike. They continuously staying busy with many activities such as drawing and painting. The sight has sharpened to that of an adult and continued practice are improving their overall skills.
In comparison to the 8-9 years old the activities listed above have improved tremendously including other activities such as dressing themselves

At this age, you can physically compare growth from the previous 6 months and see a big change. Children are also developing social skills by the multifold in this age too. Some of the differences between 6-7 years old versus 8-9 years are competition starts to develop with the older children while the younger children are still cooperating with each other and sharing. Similarities of the age groups are that both are modest about their bodies and start to create friendships. In the article, A Brief Primer on Self-Esteem by Robins, R. W., Trzesniewski, K. H., & Donnellan, M. B (2012) it is stated that self-esteem tends to be high in childhood, drop during adolescence (more so for girls than boys), increase gradually throughout adulthood, and then decline again in old age (Trzesniewski et al.,
