Did you take/ still take standardized tests as a kid? I’m sure you have because we have been using the same test for over 100 years. That is only one problem concerning with these tests. Some people believe that these tests are important and that we should add even more tests while others believe the tests are flawed, and therefore should be shortened. I think that we should reduce the amount of tests the students are taking, improve them instead. In this paragraph, I will explain a main piece of evidence used to back up the statement tests are flawed; how tests make people feel. In the TED Talk, the man (Bob Sternberg) explained how after failing the tests, he felt stupid and other people saw him as stupid, too.These tests made a smart, young man who is going to grow up to do great things feel stupid an not smart. He then starting failing on purpose to make people laugh and just because he felt incapable. Overall, these tests make some agile and brilliant students feel like they are ludicrous. Together with tests not only making kids think poor about themselves, these tests also cost the school corporations money, even when they are the ones making the errors. Schools that do a large amount of standardized testing saw a positive out look after taking those tests. Although they may have seen positivity, it still does not get rid of the fact that it will not prepare students for life after school. Just because some students are good at taking tests, it does not mean they are prepared and have the necessities of life after graduating school.
