This essay will examine the life and times of St Paul, together with outlining, his early life, his journeys, experiences, and places he has visited, and lastly his contribution to the Church & Christianity.
St Paul, considered to be one of the most important and influential off all saints for various reasons. Originally known as Saul (his Jewish name), St Paul travelled the globe on his own mission to carry Christianity to varied lands, preaching his intelligence to those throughout the world, largely influencing the growth and development of the early Church since the first century. As a young man, ‘Saul’, born in Tarsus and grew up in Jerusalem, he was raised as a Jew, from a wealthy family. After being baptised, he changed his name to Paul, subsequently receiving a powerful vision from God changing himself to Christianity.
Starting his journey around the time of 21-36 AD, he travelled to Damascus and Jerusalem, and later made several missionary journeys around the Mediterranean …show more content…
Paul’s wrote thirteen letters which are included in the New Testament, and were used by himself and Christian ethicists in their pursuit of providing guidance to believers, and because of Paul’s work, Christianity later developed by and emerged as a global religious tradition.
