1. Introduction
At 2015, Saint-Gobain hold its celebration of 350th anniversary. It has strongly confirmed its identity, and continued its strategic path of becoming the leader in sustainable habitat. Why does Saint-Gobain become the leader of this industry and make it last 352 years? Let’s see what happened 352 years ago.

1.1 History
In 1665, encouraged by his minister Colbert, King Louis XIV of France creates the glass manufacturing plant to challenge Venetian supremacy in mirror manufacturing. In 1684, it produces the mirrors for the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles and sets up operations in the village of Saint-Gobain, in Picardie (Northern France), in 1692.

Its CEO will lead the whole to finish that task.
Mr. Chalendar ensures the responsible development of its activities in a way that respects both the environment and individual health and safety, and focuses on preserving this balance, day after day. Saint-Gobain gains greater recognition each day as a company of reference in all of its markets.
By the end of 2015, Saint-Gobain has €39.6 billion in net sales, and €1.17 billion in recurring net income, and over 80% of sales made in the habitat and construction market. Net income increased 35.9% than 2014 which reached €1.3 billion. Sharply decreased in net debt, down to €4.8 billion, and it’s two-thirds of 2014.
