St. Benedict was born in one of the wealthiest family in Rome but decided to fore go all the luxury for the sake of serving God. As he was growing up he dedicated and committed himself to serving other, this made him to move away from Rome in order to live a monastic life. Not only was he influential to the people in the Middle Age but also he remains to be influential to the people in the world today especially among the Catholic and the Anglicans.
