Sports Drink Advertisements Persuasive Essay

Decent Essays
I think that sports drinks are over sold and over hyped. Sports drinks use famous people to advertise their drink and they say that sports drinks are the “key to success”. They claim that the salt in the drink makes up for the salt you sweat off but it just makes you more dehydrated. Just drinking plain water is better for you compared to sports drinks. In the YouTube ad they show how Cam Newton was doing really bad and all he had to do was drink a sports drink and he was the best. This is saying that if you drink a sports drink you’ll become the best. But is that really true? No, these shorts drink ads are saying one thing will happen and all it really does is make you dehydrated and it’s not all that healthy.
