Before leaving for school, I sit down and turn on my favorite show, Spongebob Squarepants. In this episode, Spongebob is being bullied, an incident that many students like me and my friends can relate to, at Boating School by a larger fish named Flatts. Annoyed and frustrated, Spongebob lets the bully have his way, and since he is a sponge, the bully’s physical abuse doesn’t affect him, the bully becoming tired and run-down. During the whole episode, Spongebob stays strong which teaches the children who watch it to stay strong and take a stance if they are being bullied. Spongebob is only one of many Nickelodeon shows that teach children important life lessons.…

As stated originally, our hypothesis for the laboratory experiment was that there is an inverse relationship between the percent abundance of tap water in a mixture and the size (diameter) (cm) of the bubbles produced from the respective mixture. However, our experimental process yielded just the opposite results- a direct relationship between the percent abundance of tap water in a mixture and the size (diameter) (cm) of the bubbles produced from the respective mixture- meaning that when there was a higher percent abundance of tap water in a mixture, bubbles larger in size (diameter) (cm) resulted. This means that we believe that Alyson, Sarah, and Teddy’s third mixture created the largest average bubble size (diameter) of 19.73 cm because…

Relevant Chemistry: The sponge is a simple foam of polyurethane with silane molecules that attract the oil into the sponge rejecting water and releases oil when squeezed(14). This process is possible due to the silane being non-polar and oil being non-polar as well, allowing for the sponge to accept the oil and water rejected as it's a polar molecule. Non-polar oil molecules cannot intermolecular bond with polar water because of a weak electrostatic attraction due to the absence of dipoles, in addition to the water not being able to hydrogen bond with oils dispersion forces, resulting in oil being neutral with the water separated from each other as it is seen in figure 2(13).…
