Sophomore Year Transcripts

Transcripts
Overall my transcripts are pretty decent. My best year was my Freshman year. I took my grades very serious and started off strong and made a statement with the way my grades looked. My Sophomore year I slacked off a lot and I regret slacking off because I notice how important grades are even for after high school. My junior year i picked up the slack and got a lot better with my grades. My grades right now are improving even more. I’m taking it very serious especially because this is my last year of high school.
Attendance
My attendance is very great, I did not and don’t miss a lot of school days or classes. I have been tardy for a couple of classes but only by one to two minutes. If I would miss a day of school it would be because

At school registration, just a few weeks before the starting of school, I made the decision to make the “graduation” cliff not as horrible or terrifying. That day I made the sudden decision to sign up for some honor classes and dual credit senior classes, only being a junior. (THE CALL) I knew the upcoming year was…

What I hope to accomplish in the next five years is based off the knowledge I have up to this point, and has a good chance of changing due to future knowledge and opportunities, but the general outline of what I am hoping to accomplish will relatively stay the same. With that being said, what I am hoping to accomplish in the next five years, all takes place in college and 2 years outside of it. While in college, I am already pretty heavily involved outside of the class room, but I am always looking for opportunities to get more involved. With the things I am involved in, I am looking to take high up positions by the time I finish college. I am also focused on the most important part of college, which is the actual classroom.…

Needless to say my grades improved from this. I also began to be more interactive in my school by joining several clubs like Garland High School Marching M.O.B (Mighty Owl Band) and became more active in my community by volunteering to help local schools and soup kitchens such as Life Message. I 'm only young and in high school once so I decided to dedicate some time to making memories helping my school and local community. While it has been extremely difficult and has required extreme time management, I wouldn 't want to live my life any other way right…

My grades this past year were and are not indicative of who I am as a student, or as a person in general. My junior year of high school, I decided to do PSEO, thinking it was an easy way to get credits for both high school and college. I did not realize the struggle I was going to have just trying to be accountable for myself during my senior year. My daily schedule consisted of work, soccer, managing the high school boy’s hockey team, volunteer work, spending time with my high school friends and taking college courses. I took the most challenging classes through Anoka-Ramsey Community College, thinking that like high school these would be the best for me.…

It was at seven year old when my father left my mother and I to find work in the United States. He proceeded to work day and night for the next five years until he was able to bring our family together again. I had never heard of Mexicans being labeled as lazy, and it 's sometimes hard to believe what others might say about you simply because of your ethnicity. The video "i’m latino, but i’m not…" raised my awareness about several stereotypes about Mexicans. Throughout my experiences I have learned, stereotypes can come from the deepest, darkest most ignorant parts of people, so I simply ignore them.…

After my first two weeks of my junior year, I have discovered that junior year is going to be challenging. I will make critical decisions that will have a major impact on the next five years of my life (and beyond) as I start narrowing down list of colleges and career paths. Junior year will be stressful for me since I'm in multiple extracurricular activities and I'm taking Advanced Placement classes. I am thrilled that I took AP Language and Composition because it is going to prepare me for college and help me become a skillful writer. Lord of the Flies is a fascinating book.…

While my transcript reflects my GPA and test scores, it doesn't tell the whole story of my independence, self-motivation, and determination as a student. Lacking in this equation are the challenges of being a student in one of the largest high schools in Texas, as well as participating in school activities that require time management to fit everything into a 24-hour day. Lamar teachers are often stretched to the limits to explain the curriculum due to the diversity of the student body. To fully understand the material, I have to research solutions independently from class. I attend tutorials regularly to capture any pearls teachers might go over outside of class in a smaller environment.…

    VARK Inventory Reflection

Reflecting on my results from the VARK and MBTI inventories, I am not particularly surprised by what I see. The VARK inventory came back with a result of multimodal: 11 in visual, 13 in aural, 13 in read/write, and 14 in kinesthetic; whereas the MBTI inventory resulted in being an INTP: introvert, intuitive, perceiving, and right in the middle of thinking and feeling. I have no problems being a visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic learner, or all at once, if available. Although I prefer to learn hands on and by teaching others what I already know, I can adapt to any learning or teaching style. While this does pose it’s advantages, I have always found it hard to apply myself with learning things that I am not wholeheartedly interested…

The most challenging task I have ever taken on was the completion of my schools 2013-2014 yearbook. At the time, I was a grade 10 student, my second year on the yearbook committee. The previous year I was introduced to the project and responsibilities, however the majority of the project was headed by the editor. The subsequent year, the editor, a grade 12 student, did not follow through with her commitment. Our progress in the yearbook was suffering extreme setbacks, and our advisor was questioning if we would successfully complete the yearbook.…

The beginning of my first semester at the University of Akron, has been a complete roller coaster. I have made friends, lost friends, dropped classes and of course, slept through classes. Being five hours away from my home in South Bend, Indiana has affected me more than I thought it would. I did not think that I would be close to almost dropping out of college as a whole.…

Thou Shalt Attend In high school it was quite apparent that students could receive many absences with little or no consequences and still be able to maintain a good grade point average. However, in college that is not the case. Student attendance in college is important because students who attend class have better grades, have better relationships with their peers as well as professors and develop responsible habits and behaviors. Students who attend class often receive better grades on tests for they are present the day the material was taught.…
