SYG2430 WEB Infatuation, “XO” Beyoncé
In Sternberg’s Triangular Theory of Love, from person to person, infatuation is a careless commitment to satisfy ones all consuming lust. The song “XO” is told from Beyoncé’s perspective of her relationship with her husband Jay-Z. Romantic relationships often start out as obsessed love and become romantic love as intimacy matures over time. Without progressing into intimacy or commitment, infatuation in love may vanish unexpectedly.
Verse one begins by saying “Your love is bright as ever. Even in the shadows.” I think this means that her husband’s love for her is stronger than ever. “Even in the shadows” could mean that even if in his worse times, like during arguments and such, the …show more content…
They're just hopelessly gazing.” This is a unique way of saying “I love you.” When two people are together, only they see the world they’ve created together in their relationship. This means that no one else recognizes their love and while people can see them, they don’t grasp the depth and determination of their love.

In modern society “X” means kiss and the “O” means hug and the significance of this is to further express continuous, unbreakable and everlasting love.
