Son Of Beowulf: She Serpent

“I am Beowulf, son of Beowulf” This is what Beowulf said while he strangled the She Serpent. Beowulf is a simple and exciting book about the adventures of the average hero Beowulf that I request to everyone who likes fantasy or needs inspiration. Beowulf is a wandering hero and has flaws like any other man. One day, he hears about the terrors that the monster Grendel brought to Hrothgar and his magnificent Hall Heorot. Beowulf travels to the land of the Danes where he brings his crew to rid of the monster. Soon after defeating Grendel and feasting in the hall, they come across Grendel’s mother, the She Serpent who lives in a fen. Beowulf takes a daring dive into the fen. Some characters are Beowulf, Wealhtheow, Hrothgar, and Grendel. Wealhtheow was shown to be lighthearted and was the Queen of the Danes, husband of Hrothgar. Hrothgar is the brave and humble king of the Danes. Beowulf is described to be like every other man and has bad eyesight from being stung in the eyes by bees. Although he is mostly good, he has some bad too. Unferth is gross and ungrateful and slowly loses his sanity through the book. Grendel is the first enemy of the book described to be a big slimy/hairy green creature. He has a hunger for flesh and constantly attacked Hall Heorot. Grendel's Mother, the She Serpent was almost like Grendel, but a serpent-humanoid.She is so terrible that she couldn’t be named. After Grendel was killed, she took Unferth, killed him and went to hide back in her fen. Two important places in the story are Hall Heorot and the Fen. Hall Heorot by day would glow brighter than the sun and was a beautiful sight, but by night it is dark and brooding. The Fen is a swampy pond of red waste and stretched as far as the eye could
