Censorship Essay Censorship is the withholding of information or certain expression by authority such as the government to regulate and control their being exposed. Censorship should be utilized when necessary such as when there is potential harm as a result of the certain concept being in the open/known. However there are instances when censorship is used as oppression of ideas or peoples’ rights that are clearly not a recipe for destruction. There are many interpretations of the act of censorship which influence each individual’s own acts of censorship.
