Solar Energy Synthesis

“The science of today is the technology of tomorrow” Edward Teller (Source D). Energy is a part of our lives, whether we acknowledge it or not. It is the power source that makes up our day and effects our activities throughout. Our society depends on energy, and our energy depends on oil; oil that is harming our earth and running out fast. With that comes problems that we do not have the solutions to. Because of this, many people are wondering what is the answer to Earth’s energy need for our future. The possible solution that can fix the problem is solar energy. With this comes the debate on whether or not solar energy can meet the expectations of becoming Earth’s energy in the near future. Since previous energy producers discharge carbon dioxide, solar panels create a good alternative. Another reason many people prefer solar panels is because they are renewable and long-lasting. “No possible possibility that solar energy will run out, unlike fossil fuel” (Source B). For this reason, many tend to adapt to the idea of the solar panel. Fossil fuels, now, are becoming very hard to attain, because of its long process in forming and high demand, requiring conductors to burn more of it. Consequently, this creates a low supply, while also harming the earth. On the other hand, solar energy has a high supply with high demands and will not run out. “The cells draw electricity from sunlight” (Source A). As a result, the energy coming from the sun allows a permanent source of energy. Therefore, solar panels play a role of good conductors and do not create problems such as fossil fuels and oils, our main two sources of energy.
