From the beginning of the 21st century global warming has been a leading environmental problem. As population dramatically increases across the world, it results in a rapid use of the earth’s natural resources for energy. The majority of energy produced in this era is through the process of global warming. With the increase in population the vast amount of electricity is often abused and overlooked as it creates an exceeding amount of greenhouse gases to contribute to global warming. With many types of global warming, fossil fuels is the biggest contributor to our downfall. Solar energy is if not one of the best source of renewable energy. Solar energy is always reliable as the sun is always out and has the capability to produce enough energy to be stored even as it’s during night time or a cloudy day. Solar energy is from solar photovoltaic cells that have a negative and positive charge on the silicon beneath the slice of glass and as the photons of sunlight are collected by these cells, the electrons are separated which they are attracted to one side of the silicon, creating an electric voltage (“NW Wind & Solar”, n.d). Solar energy compared to wind energy is much more effective for use, whereas wind energy has a large disadvantage where wind isn’t always blowing also requiring a lot of research to discover consistent strengths of wind to produce energy. Another issue with wind power is the windmills causing too much noise pollution towards animals and residence along the areas. Turning off lights when not needed and using renewable energy sources will aid in the amounts of fossil fuels emitted. Secondly, understanding where our main source of energy will help people acknowledge how threatening fossil fuels can be. By planting trees to absorb the carbon dioxide and, in turn producing oxygen helps the atmosphere. Thirdly, by using renewable energy sources it can help our environment last longer for future generations and also to reduce the risks of floods, hurricanes, and destruction of ecosystems. Global warming is a large problem that is constantly growing and needs to be acknowledge by more people to help protect planet earth to prevent the extinction of the human
