Sojourner Truth is one of the bold African American women that changed America’s bias toward women. In her speech “Ain't I a Woman” In paragraph two she states “ I could work as much and eat as much as a man–when I could get it–and bear the lash as well ….. I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother’s grief, none but Jesus heard me! “ ( Truth) Sojourner can equally eat as much and can be as strong as any men. Maybe not in strength wise, but for sure emotionally. For example, she has seen her 13 children get sent off into slavery. That the most painful experience a mother can have. No man can feel that torment she felt. Which made her the courageous women we know and shows how women can bare things like men. Another example is when she says “ If my cup won’t hold but a pint, and yours holds a quart, wouldn’t you be mean not to let me have my little half measure full?” (truth) If we get a little measure of rights compared to men it's only fair that we get ours full.
