I am not the type of person that likes to dwell on the bad but instead I have always made it a point to have joy even through the most difficult times in my life. That does not mean that I am never sad but, it means even when I am sad that I remind myself of the good I am blessed with. I always try to help the people around me see the good in life, because there is so much good. You wouldn’t think that joyfulness would relate to the ethics of social work but in all actuality it does. Being a Social worker you are working with a lot of people who are depressed, mistreated, and broken. And it’s your job to help them be successful by reminding them of the joy they can have, that they have lost.

No I have never worked as a Social Worker but I am very familiar with the people who they would work with. I have lived with a sister who has been the victim of addiction and seen firsthand the work of Social workers in helping rehabilitate her. I grew up babysitting my four foster cousins who were the victims of neglect. I got to see how damaging that was to their development and witness them be counseled and assisted by Social Workers their whole lives. At the daycares I have worked at we have had several foster kids that attended and I had to work alongside the Social Workers that came in and out monitoring their cases. I also lived in Honduras for 6 months working at a special needs school that was in need of a social worker. I am not saying I have experience in the field of social work by no means, but I do feel like I have quite a bit of experience and knowledge of the types of people I would eventually be working
