A social script is a commonly understood pattern of interaction that serves as a model of behavior in familiar situations. Social scripts affect us because in social settings certain behaviors are acceptable or understood. Without social scripts, confusion can be caused. We all have roles that we play. My interaction with customers at my job is different than my interactions with family or friends. I think that social scripts are necessary. Most people were taught acceptable behaviors at a young
