I have personally witnessed the effects of technology on children with ADHD. My own brother, 10 years old and diagnosed with ADHD, has an addiction to computers and mobile devices. He has an allotted time on the computer, but when the time comes to turn it off, he cries, screams, or simply doesn 't know what to do. He’ll wander around aimlessly not knowing what to do with himself. Ten years old and already trapped feeling empty without the daily distraction of electronics. We need to train our children to find joy in real life things, not virtual worlds. The fast-paced, exciting world of online games in comparison to the everyday life of a child can make any child antsy and unattentive, leading to hyperactivity. For a child with ADHD, their brains lack enough dopamine and they have to search elsewhere for the “rewarding” sensation. Video games and other computer games provide that sense of reward, hence creating an emotional attachment. There’s been an ongoing debate on whether or not video games and violent TV shows promote violent behavior. Despite what many say, video games can cause violence. 80% of video games are violence-based. If a child spends too much time around aggressive or mean friends, then they too will become aggressive or mean. There 's no difference with video games: too much time with it can turn an impressionable child into a zombie. Of course not every child (or even many) will become noticeably more aggressive as a consequence of gaming and watching TV, but emotional dangers aren 't the only
