The purpose of this memo is to inform you about whether the social media policy statement I examined was clear, specific, and comprehensive, whether the social media policy had a persuasive explanation of why the policy is necessary, the tone of the social media policy I examined, and how I would feel if I had to abide by the social media policy I examined.

Instead they simply stated that the company aims to protect their interests including along with using these guidelines the employees will be able to make respectful decisions considering the company while on the Internet with people.
The tone of social media policies
The tone of the social media policy I examined was somewhat positive. They did not shame their employees but instead inform them of how they use social media appropriately. The employers were obviously aware of how social media plays a big role on our everyday lives and encourage their employees to use social media. The company had a very supportive but firm tone in this social media policy statement. Other companies have a tendency to use a negative tone when approaching social media policies. Other companies tend to shame their employees not inform them.
My opinion about these policies
If I had to abide by this policy I would have no problem with that. It is a standard social media policy. There are certain things in life that you are not able to discuss with others so this is just good practice for those certain situations. This should be standard for everyone to know that you don’t discuss work outside of work especially on social media because things can be exaggerated or taken out of context therefore causing major troubles for the company.
