There is an incessant feeling to always be up to date with everything that is happening on social media pages. Megan Heintz believes, “We cannot have real-life conversations anymore because people are either awkward since they are not used to actual human interaction or they are 180 tweets deep in their Twitterfeed.” Going out to dinner means sitting around a table with people that may be enjoyable, but how can one really know if all faces are glued to their respective phones. Everywhere one goes, nearly every person seen is sitting on their phone. They may be on social media, checking their email, or some other type of internet addiction. “You cannot take a break from work because you are expected to check your email or social updates 24/7,” (Heintz). Even when everyone is clocked out, they are not really off the clock. Not only is the addiction growing, but it is beginning to cause problems. A CNN news report by Doug Gross shows, “More than 80% of U.S. divorce attorneys say they have seen an increase in cases involving social media and one-third of all divorce filings last year contained the word Facebook.” A legally binding marriage can be picked apart and destroyed by little things that have stemmed from the addiction of social
