Social discrimination is taking place among teenagers and kids. It is a very specific kind of bullying and it is increasing every day. The term social bullying is referred to those actions that contribute to the separation of someone from his or her social group, in this case in the school. As usual, in schools there are groups of friends that share tastes of music, literature or simply because of sympathy. Thank to this, bullies that practice social bullying try to exclude the victim from her or his group. An interesting aspect about this, is what Addy Ferguson (2014) says that girls use more social bullying than boys do. It shows how important is social life for girls and how bullies use it as an excuse to hurt somebody else. An example of social bullying would be the contempt that a group of kids show against other (s) in a game during the recess. Besides, some examples of direct social bullying can be exclusion from a group or activity or not letting a person to give his or her opinion about something. On the other hand, indirect social bullying is reflected in actions such as ignoring, treating another like an object or acting like nobody is there while a person is standing right in front of the bullies. Also, all these actions, direct and indirect, bring negative consequences to the victim. For instance, one of the main effects of social bullying in the victim is the lack of confidence in social environments. Supporting this idea, Monica J. Harris (2009) explains that people who are rejected from social groups are more vulnerable to feel that everyone in society excludes them. She uses the concepts of social distress and social stressor. In addition, the aggressor would be punished as the same if he or she had practiced another kind of bullying.
