Four Sources Of Behavior Essay

The four sources of behavior are Social-Structural, Cultural, Biological, and psychological. Starting off with Biological it which is genetics, milestones, physical changes, physical illness, congenital issues. For example, Fedal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is when a mother drinks while she is pregnant, and the drinking causes FAS. A child born with FAS is a little slower, and their development is a behind other than that they look as normal as any other child. One women from the video we watched in class said that she felt as if she was stupid because no matter how hard she tried she did not comprehend school work. Being a young, straight, hispanic, women I will be greatly oppressed. The only thing that would give me power and privilege is being straight because it is seen as the “norm”. How this affected me is that I have been put down even by family for being female. I was told what a female should do and always listen to a male, hispanic is not white so I was put down for that, and my age is considered reckless and that we do not care for voting. So for the longest time I believed a women should listen to a man, I thought hispanics were lazy so I must be, and that no matter what I do it wouldn 't matter because I was young. Now I see it a different way, but it did influence my life. Lastly, Psychological which has to do with perception, how we use our five sense to develop a response to sensory characteristics of the environment around us, cognition is how we think, affect how it affect us, socialization how you were socialized, personality which is how consisted the pattern of response is.
