On the field there i 11 players ;there's a goalkeeper, 4 defenders,3 midfielders,and 3 strikers. The goalkeeper's job is to prevent the opposing team from scoring by blocking the shots on goal. The defenders role is to defend the strikers from attacking towards the goal. They also defend midfielders and wingers on the opposing team who are trying to score. There is three to four different roles depending on the formation the team is playing. The wingers which are usually side of the field,are in charge of attacking when the team the has the ball ; in other words ,their main function is to is to attack and defend up and down the field. The two center midfielders play in the middle of the field, one of them being more of a defencive midfielder that helps defend when the opposing team has the ball. He is also responsible for creating and beginning plays from the defence to the other center midfielder. The remaining center midfielder is in charge of creating plays for the team, to look for spaces where the ball can be played at to penetrate the opposing team defensive line. In other words; they are the brains of the team. In order to play this position a you have to be extremely skillful,smart, and be able to read and make plays before the ball gets to you and after you have it. People around the world started to bid in 1954, 1958 and 1986 but only one country made an official bid to host the tournament as stated on page 10 of the inside story of World Cup soccer “ only one country made an official bid to host the tournament. Colombia was only country to bid in 1986 but pulled out”(Gifford 2012). the countries that want to participate they play other teams to qualify. 8 knockout games who make up the round of 16 with the teams that swimming to the quarterfinals in the semi-final if they die they have to go there penalties and no water when from both teams in the final to win the World Cup. After that teams play for third place which took place in 1934 between Germany and Australia”(Gifford
