Smoking Should Be Banned In The Workplace

Banning smoking in the work place is a major plus for everyone. Being people employed at the place of work and visitors will both benefit from this, it sends a good message to visitors that this place of work is serious about a healthy and productive work environment. With the employees it benefits them from receiving the long term health effects of smoking.

There are plenty of benefits to having a smoke free work environment such as,
Provides a cleaner healthier work place,
Encourages and helps smokers to quit or cut back,
Shows a healthy image to the the public,
Increase in work productivity and
Reduces fire risks.

It will also help employers with costs on paying their employees, where the employers will not have to pay for their employees to have a smoke break when they should be working. Smokers are more likely to fall ill compared to non smokers, therefore the smokers having more sick days which will cost the employer more money.

As it is really no good for anyone being the employee, employer or visitor to the workplace. Smoking has a lot of health risk and if there was to be a smoke free workplace I believe that it would be a successful and safe, healthy workplace
