Even though the number of women smoking is not as much of the number of men, still their number is increasing. In this campaign they emphasize that pregnant women should really stop smoking and not be exposed to smoke because it has a bad impact to the baby inside her womb which may cause twice more than the mothers health damage.
This illustrates the possible outcomes of smoking, its risk factors to women’s health and the possible things we could do to prevent such conditions. It also helps us to have knowledge about the concerns of the experts, health agencies and New Zealand’s government action to prevent disease caused by smoking that may help women which are torn between smoking and their desire to stop and seek proper guidance, educating themselves on health related issues, and paying attention to their bodies in order for them to live a longer life and avoid the risk of death that smoking may …show more content…
Over the years, the inequality between genders is greatest among women especially in urban areas while the effects to men were greatest in rural areas. Locals who belong in a poorer social groups who smoke, begin smoking at a younger age compare to those who belong in an elite society who are about one third of them start smoking before the age of sixteen. There are higher rate of women living in a socioeconomic area who are beginning to smoke compare to men but women have different reasons, women have different stories why they started smoking but women also have similarities maybe because they have stressful life which they experience difficult problems such as having not enough money, living with someone who abuses them, feeling failure due to disabilities; they are afraid of gaining weight, they feel helpless and through smoking it helps them have a chance to feel relax, stay calm and not lose temper which help them to keep going no matter what the circumstances they might face in their everyday lives. Inequalities in health appear very early on life and that inequality might appear to lead to worse health consequences. I read in one of the article that health inequalities is one of the significant priority of the New Zealand’s health sector. There are many factors that contributed to the above mentioned inequality
