Gucci, the staple luxury clothing brand among the rich and famous around the world. Supreme, the streetwear brand for anybody who’s anybody. Gucci and Supreme are two of the most sought after clothing brands in the world right now, and although Gucci is still a very nice brand, Supreme is far better for a variety of reasons. Things such as Supreme’s prices being lower (at retail), the popularity of Supreme with everyday people, and the exclusivity of owning any product from Supreme. From the numbers to the products themselves, there are definitely a multitude of ways in which Supreme is the superior brand between the two. Supreme’s price points are low at first, but because of the exclusivity and limited amount of their products, they drastically jump to astronomical amounts of money. There are several hundred Gucci stores around the world. From outlets to boutique stores, Gucci has it. There are also multiple celebrities who can often be spotted in Gucci clothing, from Gwyneth Paltrow to Jared Leto (Wasilak). Due to this high-profile exposure, it helps Gucci become more and more recognizable by common folk around the world. The company has also sold a lot of their products, in 2016 their net sales was about $4.7 billion dollars (Forbes).
The products that contributed to that staggering amount of sales are of a wide variety. Gucci’s target demographic is people of all ages and that is seen in the things that they offer. For women’s products they have purses, sunglasses, and skirts. These products range in price from $890 (Gucci) for the cheapest skirt to a cool $5,900 (Gucci) for the most expensive purse. As for men, they offer belts, suits, and loafers. These will put a pretty hefty dent in your wallet with the cheapest belt being $340 (Gucci), and the most expensive suit being an astonishing $6,250
