You make think that the sun will make you look beautiful and tan, but behind it all it has many harmful effects than can change you life forever. Sun-Rays is the portion of the electromagnetic radiation given off by the sun. About 7,300 people will die each year from the harmful effects the sun puts out.
There are three types of Sun-Rays. The first one is UVA which causes aging, wrinkling, and contribute to skin cancer. The second one is UVB which causes sunburns, cataracts, and effects on the immune system. The final one is UVC which is the most dangerous rays, but they are blocked by the ozone layer so they do not reach the Earth. There are many effects from the sun. People with darker skin can get skin cancer but they have a lower risk. It usually forms in the skin that has been exposed to sunlight, but can occur anywhere throughout the body. The deadliest type of skin cancer is melanoma because it is very fast growing and can spread through the body quickly. Every 50 seconds one person will die from melanoma. Some other ones are cancerous, pre-cancerous,carcinoma, basal cells, and you can even get tumors. You can tell when you have skin cancer by looking at your body. If you see skin growth, bumps or sores that do not go away, brown spots, tenderness, pain, and even sickness. Some of the symptoms you get from the over exposure from the sun is nausea, vomiting, headaches, and dehydration.Those are the main symptoms you have when it comes to skin cancer. Another effect from the sun is cataracts. Cataracts is when you have cloudy lens in your eyes. More than 200,000 US cases per year have had cataracts. People from 41 through 60 plus are more likely to get cataracts in there eyes. This is a clear sign that the DNA in your skin cells have been damaged. A sunburn is when you skin becomes pink or red. When you get sunburned you have a higher risk of getting skin cancer. Sunburns have many obvious symptoms that you can see on the skin. You can have blistering on the skin, your skin will be raw, you skin will start to peel, you might even get sick from a sunburn. First things first, if you do not want to go through all of these painful experiences you should keep you skin safe! Some ways to prevent these harmful effects is to stay in the shade. When you stay in the shade it gives you a less risk as it would in the burning hot sun! You also would need to protect your skin with clothing, for example instead of going outside with your shirt off or in a bikini put some clothing on.
