The book Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin, the main character Liz finds herself on Elsewhere, a place where the people that die go. Liz struggles with her death, but soon comes to realize she might as well accept her time on Elsewhere, and make the best of it. Liz later encounters a man named Owen Welles, and the two learn they have many differences, but many similarities as well. A similarity between Liz and Owen, is they both died at a young age. Owen died in a routine fire rescuing a kitten, at age 26. Similarly, Liz died while she was crossing the street, at age 15. Coincidentally, Owen died during one of the most routine rescues in the world, and Liz died while crossing the street which is a very simple thing to in the real world. This is
