Some people are very willing to conform, while others would rather demonstrate their own personal ideas of right and wrong. In religion, the set of rules are instilled to guide a person down the path of righteousness and enlightenment, however there are some people who stray away from the path. In Confucianism and African Traditional Religion, he consequences derived for people who disobey the moral code are similar. The consequences are not to be confused with the idea of heaven and hell, because neither religions believe in those concepts; however both religions do believe in the idea that for every action there is a consequence. The major connection between Confucianism and Africa Traditional religion lies between the emphasis of a good name and respect. A name in African Traditional religion does not only represent the individual, but the family as well, thus acts of dishonor and disobedience must be repaired.
