Women in music describe the role of women as composers, song writers and other musical professions. In the 2010s, while women comprise a significant proportion of popular music and classical music singers, and a significant proportion of songwriters there are few women record producer, dancer and actress such as Beyonce and Shakira. They are worldwide famous women singers. Beyonce is an American singer, born and raised in Houston, Texas and performing in singing and dancing competitions as a child. She began her music career as a member of Girl’s Thyme, which was recast as Destiny’s Child in 1993. Managed by her father, the group became one of the world’s best-selling groups of all time. (Jones, Joanna, 2004). According to Cooper, Shakira is “a Latin American superstar.” She began her career in 1990 with Sony Music and has been one of the most popular Latin acts in the world since the mid 1990s. (Cooper, Ilene. 2010). Shakira and Beyoce are two singers. While both are similar occupation, they have different backgrounds, music genders and nationalities.

For example, being mum, both of them are successfull famous singers, whose career started in very early age. Despite some different music genres, they both hare interested in pop music. Both of them are good dancers. Being worldwide singers, they both show their success by winning a lot of Grammy Awards. For example, Beyonce is the third most honored women in Grammy history with a total of 17 awards and with 45 total nominations. And Shakira has won 5 Awards for each category in wich she was nominated. Colombian diva was the big winner at the inaugural Video Music Awards Latinoamerica, placed October 24 at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach.
