Orwell shows how Napolean manipulated the commandments and turned himself into a hero to be worshipped. He filled the other animals heads with propaganda and lies, so his utopia would never end. He then began killing animals who didn’t follow him and his rules. For example, the chickens Napolean slaughtered for conspiring with Snowball. Orwell uses Napolean to show how information, knowledge, and language are the greatest tools used by powerful people of the world. However, Weir uses his character Christof to share his views on power. Christof created this fake world to keep Truman safe from the evils of the real world. He thought he was being caring and protective. But if he was trying to keep Truman safe, why would Christof contain him, invade his privacy, and expose him as a form of entertainment and a way to make money. Weir shows how Christof became obsessed with his power, and almost drowned Truman in an attempt to stop him leaving this world he was so involved in.
