The siege of Waco was a big siege that lasted 51 days.

The Waco siege, also known as the Waco massacre. was the siege by the U.S. federal government and Texas state law enforcement officials of a compound belonging to the religious cult known as the branch davidians. The ATF had planned their raid for Monday, March 1, 1993, with the code name "Showtime".

The 51-day siege resulted in the deaths of four federal agents. and 82 Branch Davidians, 28 of them were children. There were only 9 survivors after the building was burned down. It all started because the branch davidians didn't surrender and they shot at the fbi.

It started on February 28th 1993.it ended April 19th 1993. The siege was from the branch of the Davidians smuggling illegal guns. They had them all locked in a secret vault in their basement. They killed 4 ATF agents. Eight Branch Davidians were convicted on firearms charges. five convicted of voluntary manslaughter. and four were acquitted of all charges.

Soon thereafter, the Branch Davidians began firing weapons. For more than five hours armored vehicles, some of which punched holes into walls, deposited 400 tear-gas canisters inside the compound; at 11:40 AM the assault ended. Some 25 minutes later, the Branch Davidians set several fires, and at 12:25 PM gunfire was heard inside the compound. Due to safety concerns, firefighters were not allowed into the area for another 15 minutes, by which time the compound was beyond saving. While nine people managed to escape, the rest died.
